School Visits
Jangchub Ling welcomes visits to the centre from school or youth groups.
Such a visit to the centre gives pupils and young people the opportunity to experience life in a Buddhist Centre - to meet monks & nuns, to listen to a teaching, be guided through simple meditations and ask questions.
During a visit students will be able to learn the meaning and symbolism behind the shrine and statues within the meditation hall; and gain an understanding of the meaning of Buddhist rituals.
We can cater for of all size of group, age and ability. The teaching can focus on whatever aspects of Buddhism are relevant to the students' curriculum and interests, e.g. history, lifestyle, relevance to modern times etc.
As an alternative to a visit to the centre, we are also happy to offer guest speakers who can offer presentations about Buddhism at school locations.
Centre visiting fee - £1 per pupil
School visits - £15 per hour plus travelling costs
